I just wanted to say thanks to Jay Smith. Cool Guy, who knows his stuff. I have read other posts about being cautious about from whom to take advice. I agree with that statement for sure! I have tried the others and my money goes to Jay. I am running his block and front half, Jay's lighted and balance single ring pistons, pic below, used his advice on reed cages, Jay's lightened and balanced flywheel and some other stuff. Also, I purchased a 24 yamaha prop from Jay.
Now, the proof is in the results. Turned the 24 (on an Allison XB2002) 10,500 +- at the lake the other day. Did not realize that it was turning that high until I hit the recall. I say 10,500 +- because it is a 10K tach and it was about 500 over the 10K mark, and it had more.
Now, i just need to get the prop twicked a little and I'm set.
Hey, I have never raced a boat competitively, just like to move fast.
My advice is to use the man who currently has his motors in world champion race boats, JSRE.

Where is Moselle located in the state of Ms?

Moselle is located about 5 miles North of Hattiesburg, MS. The Uninversity of Southern Mississippi is located in Hattiesburg,
Hattiesburg is about 60 miles North of the Gulf Coast, Gulfport, Biloxi.
Jay, My friend drove my boat with the motor described above. He packed up his 2.5 block last night and will ship it to you this week. He is the one that you did the work on the bridgeport front half. He's ready to juice up the 2.5 now.
