nikasil ?
how thick can US Chrome put on the nikasil plating? what should the bore size be before they replate? how much cylinder repair will they do as far as scored grooves, etc.?

Generally the bores are honed .005 oversize, the block is cleaned and acid dipped, the plating goes on .008 thick, and then the bores are honed back to size. But they have plated up to .012 thick.

If it’s scored badly they put in a new aluminum sleeve.
