Don’t be reckless be sure you and all passengers wear a lifeline safety vest when going fast. Just be careful. Skaters are known to be pretty solid safe hulls but too much air underneath any speedboat is risky as heck so take your time getting used to it. The downside of speedboats is you typically don’t get tons of time at high speeds to learn all this. It takes many runs to get it second nature. Have fun

    Sounds good.
Thank you Sir for the input.

Check the last 3-5 feet of the bottom on each sponson to make sure it's flat. Use a straightedge of some sort to check.

    Hi Trbocharge,
    Thank you for the help.

I don't know if I'll be taking that boat out to Havasu anymore this year. But
If and when I do, I will message you and see if you have the time.

    Thank you Sir

    Hi,
Do you have a 21ft with twins as well?
If so, that is the exact information I am looking for.

    Thank you

i have 2 steps to deal with, 1 about 18'' foward, then another foward of that. look straight and rock solid. another 80 hp would do the trick, get me to 75 quick.ive read all theboating tests, back in the early 80s, no mention of porposing what so ever, think a little pay-ola was goin on, at the tests? tests was with a 200. the non-s model does the same. maybe a 20'' mid, flat on the transom would run flat. canada used them for patrol boats.

Board members Alamo Dan and Warlock Dave have both had multiple 21 Skaters (twins and singles). They are both knowledgeable guys.

While I was airing out my 28 today I thought of this thread. I had my 14 degree overhubs on in flat water. At 70 mph it porpoises. There is no trim position that will make it stop. At 80 mph and up there is no trim position that it will even suggest a lope or porpoise. I either cruise slower then 60 or no slower then 80. Most often I cruise at 90 or 100. She just loves going 100 mph. She's god awful, miserable at 70 with that set of props.

my 2 18s act the same, above 70 nothing will stop porpoise, i have to cruise at 55 or try to get it to 75+, if its choppy enough' they cant touch my magnolia cat 15' /w 2.5. no porpoise at any speed, just flys at 80 n cruises at 30. and all the wieght is in the back. 1962 hull design/750 lbs.

The 14 degree are stern lifting. Got them for summer and rough water and they shine in that role. Now that the weather is cooler and summer traffic is gone my 18 degree thru hubs work best. I am gonna put them on tomorrow. They barely lope at all , can't remember for sure but I think it tries to at 60. I haven't run them this year and don't remember details but, I will report back.

im gonna take out my s model tomorrow running a sig drag4 o/h, try to get past porpoise zone once again, jacked up super high w/ hull intake. the d4 seems to be a low rake prop.
