Good question. I don’t know. But I want find out, same as you.

But I do know that a couple of years ago, ProMarine was perpetually out of it’s fifteen over pistons for 2.0 V6s. Don’t know if they ever came back in stock. I’ve got a 2.0/150 with a couple of holes that are down on compression and up on leak down. That I want to get sorted. It’s just that I threw a solid 2.4 on to the boat a couple of years ago so I haven’t been super motivated to tear down the 2.0 yet. But I still plan to. I can’t stand sh*t lying around that doesn’t work.

Vertex probably have the biggest following in the drag racing circuits. If they will spin 10k they will last at 7k. Make sure to check the ring gaps. WSM are well respected as well. I like the WSM because of the 1.5mm ring option, but not needed for a finishing motor.

I had a bad experience with WSM 1.5 rings on mercury pistons. Scuffed 5 cylinders in 15 minutes run time with double oil. Might not be a problem if they were on WSM pistons, but I’ll probably go with vertex.

as a rule of thumb I have always gone with the pistons my engine shop recommends. I was going to use WSM and my engine shop talked me into wisecos. They have been great
