"If successful, Toyota could really disrupt an industry currently dominated by Tesla and Chinese automakers."

    That's a big "IF".

If my aunt was my uncle ....

Same "you just wait" story that went over 100 pages last year or three ago ..

That wunder battery .. is it from Communist China .. or the other one ?

Did I tell you about the new three cycle engine I am developing. It's designed to make both the 2 and 4 cycle enthusiasts either real happy .. or real pizzed off.
It has, rotary reed valves, sprung poppet sliding sleeves, screw blown turbos, and water cooled expansion chambers. It runs on E-85 and gets 193 miles to the gallon. I'm going into production once the weather cools off and should have them on the showroom floor sometime in mid 2029 ... You read it on the internet, so it has to be true ...

I'm sendin you a pre production model in 2028 .. I want you to put it in an old work truck and take it to the "Texas Mile" and of course "Bonneville" as part of my R+D program.
If you bazooka the rods out of it .. just throw it in Lake Elsinore, for a 6 month metal decomposition test ... what could go wrong ..

I'm sorry that the actual tech sounds like blowhard'ism to you. Even still, I have high hope for you that understanding the barriers to solid state air/auto/marine batteries, is within your cognitive capability. I guess I can see how to a desperately hopeful and confused mind, the reality of science may sound like blowhard. But you can at least try, and the offer for help is always there... You can always prove me wrong... If it turns out I in fact am wrong.

Troll? I'm sure you are a boomer but you don't have to succumb to it. You can be better. Learn what a troll is, and don't be too hard on yourself when you find out it's you.

Getting back on topic, my offer still stands to explain to you what the problems are with scaling solid state batteries up to air/auto/marine size.

2)The problem is you claim to be the end of Knowledge because 20 years ago you took some course in school
Well In the the last 10 years alone over 100 BILLION has been spent by 100's of University's Mega corporations, small start ups
    3) Like I posted about Mercedes and a small US company, and they just started working on this in 2022 while Toyota has 15 years,
Now everyone is going to 800 Volts, crazy right. You are going to die just getting in your car right,
In your case a little bit of Knowledge is DANGERIOUS
Peter I will never respond to you because it's use less, great waste of time.
4)You need to join one of the companies and show them how stupid they are, just wasting time and money
Toyota has been driving Solid State cars in Japan testing,
If you read what I posted about Mercedes - Benz and Factorial Energy
The big problem is these new cells Breath, they expand when full then decrease in size,
So Mercedes called in their best Engineers including from their Formula one race team
You know the innovative group that's always searching for the next thing
They quickly the (F1 group) came up with the battery pack, frame assemble that's shown in the article.
    5) But your answer is It's just CLICKBAIT,
There are several groups that have solid state batteries developed, different design architectures
    6) Now the REAL problem is designing the machines to mass produce economically,
But like every other Hurdle it's happening,
    7) You are so Ignorant of what is going on today, BUT you claim otherwise, sad,
    8) So what does the God of engineering actually do for a living?
Did you read how just regenerative braking propels that massive train.
Wow Cudes, so much to unpack here... I tried to stay a gentleman, didn’t call names, answered when called, offered help and discussion. :shrugs: Don’t know what else I could have done. Sorry to see you go.

    1) Me neither, and I still haven't. Ignore is for ignoramuses. No matter. I will still continue to share insights into emerging technology, with you or without you.
    2) Nah, mate. It's simple maths. From 2500 years ago. And it hasn't changed. I keep up with this stuff. Not from fansites though, and always with a sceptical eye towards BS. I Always throw some maths at it, if possible as a first line of BS testing.
    3) Nonsense. The best minds and money in the world have been working on something better than lithium ion, from the day lithium ion came out 33 years ago. It has been... Difficult.
    4) They're not stupid. They're very smart. They're either getting free money from a government they are afraid of, if they don't toe the government line, or are choosing to toe the line. Fusion is the future of energy or there will be no future. But it too, has been diabolically difficult.
    5) I don't know if you're a boomer, but you're being one again. You should study up on what clickbait is, and don't take it too hard if you find out it's you.
    6) This is the closest thing to truth that you have blundered into. And it is a HUGE problem. Utterly HUGE.
    7) Everything I claim is out in the open for discussion and dispute. There have been few (ok zero), takers so far.
    8) You don't know? It's in my profile.

CRUD was misunderstood when he said he was buying a Tesla truck. Since he writes very little of his own words .. what he meant was that he went all in on a NIKOLA trucks. Fun, I'm sure he would be more than willing to sell you a few thousand shares of his portfolio ..
