    Code 4602-23

    Hi!

I have a Phantom 25 with a 2021 model 450R. It has 485 hours on it without major engine issues. Replaced starter and steering cylinder under warranty.

However, last year we experienced that the engine suddenly stopped. Both on idle and high speed. On my app I got code 4602-23, and we cleaned the battery poles - and also replaced the connectors (horseshoe type with new ones). It helped and did not get any more engine issues rest of the season in 2024.

However, got my boat on water this week and the engine stopped offshore in high seas on my way back from the dealer. Started easily again.

Sprayed the battery poles with WD-40 spray, and no fault codes today. I use BlueTop Optima battery.

I will head for my dealer next week. Any similar experiences?

    Thanks !

    Cheers Toffen

When you started back up again, did it allow you to reach all RPM's of did you have to stay at idle in gear back to the dock?

    Hi!

Thanks. The engine worked fine and allowed me to rev up in speed. Went up to 4000-4500 rpms. Could have done higher, but I was a little reluctant to drive faster inshore.

I suspect key switch bounce or clean power interruption. Both of these could act as described. Let us know what you find!

    Hi!

    Thanks

We replaced the main switch and key switch, and everything is running well now.

The only issue left is that the swivel bracket have some squeaky sounds. Sounds like plastic rubbing against plastic. I presume the swivel bracket needs further more grease?

    Cheers Toffen
