    Who has the cleanest virgin 225 Promax or 200XS they wanna sell?

    10K give or take depending in model,
    Promax’s seem to go for less than 200XS but I realize a nice one of either will cost

    You can always build a promax or better spec 2.5 from an FF or EE block too if you want to invest the time and cost. To really get this approach where it needs to be takes some hunting on parts you need to source a 7 petal laser front half. Most these days originate off a sportjet motor. Imo your best route on control is to get a Brucato unlimited acu. Then you need to have work done to the block and sleeves. If you start with an FF the sleeves are promax spec porting already but with an EE you need to mod them a little. Mike at buckshot sells brand new sleeves pre ported for this. He can provide them in any hp port map you desire. Might as well get the 260 spec imo is the way to go. Then the rest of the mods are block porting. Rod slots, open the dump hole to promax size, ball port the chest out, a few other small details. Then you need the race cowl. For a ten k budget you should be able to pull this off and have a brand new motor out of the deal. Switch to 16 amp electrics and lightweight flywheel while you’re at it. Top pin pistons from John Marles. Steel cage bearings. Wiseco pistons ( be very prudent on break in ) tighten the compression up to 145psi with fresh heads again from buckshot or Jay smith. In fact Jay Smith is closer to you he can build the whole thing for you if you like. Great guy

    anyways just another option it’s getting hard to find these motors in as new shape now

    I made contact with the owner of the 200XS Gen 2 but he has sold it unfortunately so your search continues. It had 198 hours on it.

    Could you use a 15" or do you have to have 20" ?

    I have a 1997 Promax 225 with less than 25 original hours. It should be in a showroom. The whole mirage package is a time capsule. It's a 20 inch straight leg. Located just outside of Toronto. $7500 USD no lower unit. Still unsure if I want to sell. Text 416-702-7913 for pictures
