Is it possible to use 250 efi downdraft intake on older 250efi ?

Is it possible to install late model 250 efi downdraft intake on older twin ecu 250 efi ? TO BE CLEAR not referring to 300 x , rather 250 efi downdraft . I know it will bolt right on , question what injector do I use ?

    Thanks

Thanks ! I installed 300x intakes on older 3 litre with minimal fuss so I know its a direct bolt on other than bell crank and rods which I have piles of , question is use what injector to work with older twin ECU

Maybe a lot of electrical work cuz the sensors that plug into the ECU are different on each, including the external oil pump and VST plugs

All above are my Shaun Torrente STR engines that genius built me that lasted . He built the long blocks ONLY , 10 min on test stand before they started coming apart , paid him big money and he just said oh well . Keep hoping for Karma like a fiery boat wreck !

    Larry, when you say intake.
Do you mean just the plenum than throttle body or the reed adapter plate that mounts the injectors internally as well ?

If externally, the white tip 14 ohm injectors that came in all early models.

If internally, you will need a 12-14 ohm Deca (short) type injector.

Im not referring to the 300x style with injector in reed plate . Im using the internal OEM 2003 250 efi induction on older twin ecu junk . What injector came on 2003 250 efi ? Thanks

Yes .. the early model (Denso) twin pack motors fired two injectors at one time. All it could handle was a saturated (12-14 ohm) injector. Back then they used a white tip Keihin (Bosche type) injector that blew aprox. 500 cc / min.

The later Motorola had six injector drivers that could be configured to run either a pink tip (2 ohm) Keihin 300x or a (12-14 ohm) Deca 225-250 injector.

Not knowing the port timing and compression of your motors, your best bet is to have your injectors flowed at different pressure levels. (43.5 to 55) 5 psi one way or the other might be the difference between 490, 500 and 510 cc/min. Which would cover the 250 to 300+ HP range pretty well .

I think I bought a down draft complete fuel system from you. I sure didn’t like the sound of your engine only lasted 10 minutes. But I would really appreciate all those pictures like the ones above. I will take all you can send me. I bought a basket case so I didn’t take it apart. The guy I bought it from did a very good job of bagging and labeling all the parts. But a bunch of pictures could really help.
