Mod VP original rules
Did the original rules state that the center pad had to be deeper than the sponsons? If yes, by how much?
thanks

I only recall officials placing a straight edge across the bottom looking for that center pod being deeper. By how much? I don't think they were looking for a number.

Baker we had at the shop was raced by Gary Lyons ? Owned Stripeline detailing, I don't recall the center pad being deeper than sponsons!

Maybe the rules said equal to or deeper? Roark and Rusty Campbell were awarded a ton of wins in STVs and would have been protested if they didn't meet the requirements. I think they are just over inch or so lower then the sponsons the STV.

Interesting.
With the center pad lower than the sponsons, boat is faster.
What was/is Parker’s rule regarding center pad?

On boat racing facts, Ron Hill said that the original rule was that the center pad had to be at least even with the sponsons.

Last 3 feet of the ctr pod had to have at least 8 inches of it's width even or below the lowest part of the sponson.

I’ve raced mod vp way way back in the day. I hate saying way way back but the pad was even across the board. At least that’s what I remember. Lots of fun.

Where is the pad on the Stoker, even or below ?
MVP was the BEST racing. like stock car racing in the old days, real boats that anyone could buy and play with, just lighter versions,
I haven't paid much attention to stock car racing because nothing is the same as stock,
I loved old Trans Am for the same reason, real cars, tight rules, I use to go to Watkins Glen for F1, Trans Am
Nascar is now a joke.We have invented the world; WE see

Al, since you have been tweaking bottom designs your whole life,
It would be a good read of some of your findings,
I've been working in a big boat boatyard for the past week, for some reason, I've always been intrigued by hull designs,
When I was doing my thing 25 years ago, I would look at the hull upside down and try to imagine what was doing what.
Al, I remember you lived in the Villages Fl for a little while,
Not far away is the St Johns River, I'm moving to East Palatka Fl the river is over a mile wide in front of my place and I get a sunset every night
It's OLD FL, Cracker Town, after 40 years in Fl, I found an area that's not destroyed by modern development. We have invented the world; WE see

It would be cool to see a modvp exhibition at one of the drag or circle races, seeing lake boats turn like that is pretty incredible from the videos I've seen

You actually feel G force in the turns. Lake Havasu was a great place to run.
