Need some prop help!
I have a Triton 186. It’s only rated for a 150. I just put a 200 FF 2.5 on it. Having trouble finding a prop that won’t run too many RPMs. Currently running a 27 tempest with my jack plate more than half way down and turning it 6000-6100. I knew I’d be fighting props putting a motor that big on my little bass boat.. but I didnt Think it would be this bad. Lol

29p tempest will hold r's better, but it might kill the bottom end. That ff will turn 6500 easy...Stay with the 27 and enjoy the good hole shot.

I will second what Xstream said about rpm. I run mine up over 6500.
What you might try, is swapping the grey wire from the voltage regulator to the other regulator. Just to make sure you're getting a accurate measurement, and dont have a bad regulator. Rpm reading seems a bit high for that setup.

Delete the oil injection and the black boxes. Set the timing to 23 and premix 40:1 and spin the thing as high as it will go. I spin mine to 7500 no issues

Sounds like a hot rod!
If you can get it set up just right, it'll hurt some feelings of the fellers with modern 250hp boats.
20 years ago, I co-angled out of a tr20. That ride was the fastest in our club, and very memorable. It was the catalist to learn everything I could in order to go faster.
