Again, I agree with it all except the dependency. After 16 years as an institutional equity trader free markets and free trade will find the path of least resistance. Resources have a global market, consumption with little substance isn’t a viable path.
Look at Wall Street, your answers are staring you down, while our market is holding its own. This is 2008 revisited, or has that trajectory2023 TUFF 25

I just checked again and Shapiro has loaded up another version of what he had earlier. It’s not as strong or good but it’s basically a similar take to how I see it. He speaks to why he believes this is in America’s best interest and explains his reasons. Seems sensible. It also seems to me like this whole tariff thing is some side show bob deal. Did you watch that South Park clip above? Canada? Seriously the bad guys for selling America good stuff at low prices??? What on earth is wrong with you people. Buy it all cut everyone else out is my thinking. Secure those supply chains make the relationship stronger Not weaker. Don’t give a leg up to China or India to buy it

I don't want to give the wrong impression; I love Canada as a country, have been there many times, and have had lots of Canadian friends over the years... Canadians just vote for IDIOTS!

Big time IDIOTS, but I’m beginning to wonder about y’all down south. Your last few have been doozies! And Donald 1.0 was ok, but 2.0 is an epic failure. This is the first time I can say he is genuinely wrong/lying.
It’s going to be a bumpy ride for the planet and a DEEP recession is well on its way unless the course rapidly changes.2023 TUFF 25

I wouldn't want to bet on that. US aluminum and steel refineries are running at 50-55% capacity because they can't compete with cheap Canadian power... that's about to change. We also have plenty of timber and oil that's been off-limits for decades (we apparently preferred wildfires to "exploitation", but that's over now) so we've been buying from Canada.
Once we resume consuming domestic resources... we stop paying tariffs on imports. I think we're gonna be fine.
