There are a few old ( 30 years ago) interviews of Trump and he says exporting jobs to China will hollow out the middle class.

I just want some folks to realize it was given away because that's what Wall st wanted. It wasn't about relations or changing China into a democracy. That was all lies. Biggest sellout of America ever IMO. Now this ex-potus SOB stumbles around the Hamptons and answers to nobody about the current situation with China.
USA: W-T-O - CLINTON PUSHES FOR CHINA'S ACCEPTANCE
Shortly after Nafta was signed by Clinton he had to destroy our tariff trading system (GATT) which was enforced by US congress., The WTO was created (1995) by Clinton and other international players and in reality, took away congressional control (tariffs) of our trade policies and made US powerless in any trade disputes like dumping, currency devalue etc etc etc . At that point (2000) trade was normalized w CCP China with in the newly created WTO, the rest is history. Its been a bloodbath

Honda considers moving some Mexico, Canada production to US due to tariffs
Honda is aiming to ensure 90% of US sales are with vehicles produced domestically
Honda isn't the only automaker potentially shifting operations. Hyundai announced plans in March to invest $20 billion to bring manufacturing operations to the U.S.
Part of that investment, about $5.8 (b)illion, will go toward building a next-generation steel plant that will supply two of its U.S. plants and will employ over 1,400 people. The rest of the money will be earmarked to expand manufacturing in the U.S.
Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida suggested Trump’s tariffs could force the car manufacturer to shift its production outside of Mexico.

Twelve years and counting to get a mine approved...
Rio Tinto (NYSE:RIO) is betting that President Trump will finally give the green light to its giant Resolution copper mine in Arizona after a 12-year permitting battle, the Financial Times reported Wednesday.
"I do think that we have really good chances now to progress that project. We have made a lot of progress," Rio (RIO) CEO Jakob Stausholm told FT in an interview.
The Resolution mine, which first submitted a mining plan to the U.S. Forest Service in 2013, would be the biggest copper mine in North America once fully developed, producing as much as 1B lbs/year of copper to meet 25% of total U.S. needs.
The project, 55% owned by Rio Tinto (RIO) and 45% by BHP (BHP), is one of several expected to benefit from the policies of Trump, who declared last year that he would speed up regulatory approvals for any company investing more than $1B in the U.S.
The Pebble Project in Alaska, a copper-gold project owned by Northern Dynasty Minerals (NAK), also is expected to get its final approval under the new administration, according to industry executives.
