Yikes, all that coin, and it needs work
"The headliner is sagging, the glue having long dried up just like so many other cars from this era. It's not shown in the handful of photos with the auction listing, but we see it hanging like a deflated balloon in a walkaround video. We do see up-close shots of the engine bay, which is mostly clean, save for considerable corrosion on aluminum components. Exterior badges appear to have some pitting on them, seen most prominently on the Chevrolet emblem at the back. And the lower interior door trim panel looks pretty wavy. To be fair, it could've been that way from the factory. This is a Chevette, after all."
And of course it can’t be driven as that would diminish the value of a 47 mile car.
My guess is the car has sentimental value to at least two people. It takes two to bid up the price.Last edited by David; 01-19-2025 at 09:09 PM.

Maybe WhistlinDiesel bought it. Don't think I've ever seen him "test" a Chevette. RR

I was talking w- a buddy that owns several collector cars, recently. He said (his opinion) that prices for 60s muscle cars are actually coming down. Maybe everyone is buying Yugos, Gremlins, Pacers, and Chevettes now
What was the name of the Pontiac version of the Chevette????

I think in the US, the Pontiac version of the Chevette was the T1000. It was the Acadian here.
Chevettes seemed to last a long time, at least in Windsor where I lived for a long time. But I haven't seen one in years. I road in the back seat of a Chevette from Waterloo to Ottawa back when I was a flexible university student. That would have been about 5 hours. That sort of road trip is on the list of things you could not pay me to do now.Last edited by David; 01-19-2025 at 03:53 PM.
