    1.25 Hub

Anyone tried one of these hubs?
The snubbers look like they would last much longer without sliding to the side

Interesting. Haven't seen that style yet. I've used the SSR style and they do shift smoother, but can take a press or at least a bottle jack to get the hub out.

Mercury has revised all of the high performance 1.25" hub kits to come with the double nut and a single washer rather than the stack of 3 washers.

I wonder if Mercury updated the rubber snubber design with the 2 nut system? If the new design included snubbers that filled the entire machined groove as opposed to just the current 1/2" wide black strips that would be awesome.

Found the 2 nut and single washer system on the Mercury Racing site. #8M0179579. Says it can be used with the 8M0183487 & 8M0217764 hub kits when mounting any outboard CNC cleaver to 1.25 or 1.50" prop shafts

When I had 300R's with 5 blade clevers, they were bad about loosening. I was going way beyond torque spec and they would still loosen consistently. Never any issue on any of my 2.5 merc. Maybe others had the same problem.

I have not had any loosening issues with 19 spline hub kits. 15 spline yes....
Las double nut 19 spline hub kit I got in a couple days ago still had the same size rubber strips on it.

8M0183487 is the 1.25" hub kit with the newer double nut system. The machined taper was updated for better fitment but no other changes. 8M0217764 is the 500R hub kit. 8M0179579 is the standalone double nut and washer kit that's designed to be used on cleavers, or replacing old hardware. The Mercury SSR hub kit, which is the half rubber 1.25" kit, did not get the double nut update.
