I have a 150 stacker I would sell. It has the speedmaster lower but is missing the nose cone. Otherwise, complete. Not running but turns over by hand.

Square head, top flat surface of the block and on the flat side surface of the head you'll find a 3 digit stamped code.
On the block behind the coil #1 you'll find a year casting.
Blocks and assemblies can get switched around over the years, more behind the stacks too and not just a bolt on if blocks swapped.
150 started out 96ci 3.3125"x2.8 then also had a 100c.i. 3.375"x2 8"
Should be a studded head , oring deck if original 96ci but the square head was '75 release and likely a big bore.
Correct tested, not oiled up, carbs wide open PSI should be 185-195. If the grouping isn't real tight, pull the transfer covers and tension check the rings through the transfer ports with in out pressure, they must follow. Top rings breaking can show a decent psi if recent.
It'll have true high ring pressure backed pistons .
Jets should be 106 range but that can be changed, carbs will have casting date on the portside.Last edited by FMP; 12-25-2024 at 03:59 PM.

So the square flat cylinder head was on the 150?

Last year 150 is '75/76. By then the previous design head wether small or big bore was not used. But.. maybe some carried over by availability.
Like I said, stamped codes on both block and head will possibly id it.
It could be a 135 head cut tighter or a non stamp cut tighter to yield the 195psi with the ex height.
If it's the previous style the strike pad below #4 has the stamp, ex 372.
The 150 years '71/72-76 had two styles of head possible wether small or big bore.
It's easy enough to determine what the powerhead is with the head removed and a view of the top rings and ports and other details.
Measured stroke to rule out a later crank swap or different powerhead too.
If you were to id it with the cowl style and trim , that latch ended earlier in '73 , but did they continue it on the stackers?
A closer look it the setup is needed.
At some point a' 76 96ci 105 might have been dropped on it with the stacker trim and TC carbs, things happen over 50yrs.Last edited by FMP; 12-27-2024 at 01:52 PM.
