    Propeller Diameter Question

If everything was to remain constant with a boat set up on a STV Euro with a Sportmaster for example, what would be the gains/ pros or losses/ cons in going from a 14.5" diameter to a 15" diameter propeller? Would the propeller design play a large part in the results? I am thinking about just a Mercury stock cleaver or perhaps a ET.

A larger diameter prop if everything was equal, SHOULD reduce the slip number a bit. It could reduce the amount of RPM that you could turn also. Remember, all of the information about propellers is kind of black magic. Every set up is different. You just have to try different options to see what works best. Carter Powell
