    Merc 2.5 info

    Quick question fellers, wasn't it 2000 when merc 2.5 200 swapped from cdi to cdm ignition? Along with oring head gaskets etc. 99 was still cdi etc? Thanks

    Yep, Because I picked up a 2000 200hp to rebuild and it was CDM and O-ring heads.

    Threw all the electronics in the trash and converted it back to CDI and carbs lol
    83 Vking 150 Mariner 2.5L

    Ya i knew it was , so dummy on fb s&f said he been workin on these for 40 yrs tryin tell me they changed in 99 , I had quit replying to him b4 I got pissed, just double checking some my knowledge. I should have never 2nd guessed myself , prob forgot more then most them know over on fb

    Souds like CDI is a preference over CDM.
    Sounds like carbs is a preference over EFI or direct injection? Is that true?
    Sounds like head gaskets are a preference over O-rings. Is that true?

    justa a preference with each individual.. some want total performance (switch box stuff), some just want ta ride and/or fish.....
