    Pitch change

I have a 26 Trophy plus that is just putting me over the max rpms.
A 27 would probably put me where I need to be.
If you have a prop shop add cup to reduce rpms would that be similar to running a 27 pitch or does it just lower the rpms?

I think most stainless props can be re–pitched +/– 1" pretty easily... but really you should see if you can borrow a 27 or 28 to test before you spend the money. If you're running up against the rev limiter or even past the power peak... you might be way off?

Some older 2 strokes like to be spun hard. What engine do you have? Is it always over rpm or just when light? Does your engine have a limiter?

sounds like the right pitch to me. unless you run wide open constantly could be off by 100+-

I agree with David and Kirshner. 1 inch change of pitch is 200 rpm generally. A 27 will drop rpm's and may go the same speed. The only way to know for sure is to try one. It will be more sluggish then the 26 loaded.

I always suggested to my customers prop the boat for how your gonna run it. Most people spend little time with a light load. I like to prop so loaded with typical load will allow you to reach max rpms's. That way the boat is responsive and fun to operate. Its no fun to run an over propped boat.
