"Q: What is next for Allison Boats and the boating industry in general?
Bigger boats. Because of the change in engines by all the manufacturers over the years, which are bigger and heavier, many of Allison’s boats, like the Grand Sport and the Super Sport are too small for that much weight, and The new Mercury V6 four stroke would work on our current larger boats, with solid mounts and a sportmaster gearcase. We want to build a bigger boat that will still fit in a garage. We want to design it so the transom is set in from the back of the boat, and using a swing tongue, we can still fit in a small space. It’s going to be bigger and deeper but still less than 8’ wide. And we are going to be building a larger Grand Sport.
What is next, I can’t say when, I can’t give dates, except one thing; It’s going to be the world’s most efficient hull, we already are, but this boat is going to get triple the gas mileage of comparable size boats. Of course, the only way to do that is to make it faster with the same amount of power by reducing the drag. "

David, let me borrow your Allison. I'll cut it in front of the windshield, move the bow forward 36 inches, and use Formica to form the sides and bottom, pour in foam, remove Formica, shape, and epoxy fairing compound, and you now have a plug to build the mold, I'll give you a new boat in place of your old piece of ....

If one wanted a super fast boat in that size, Tuff is the current answer. A fine answer at that.

I was working at Velocity in 1990 when the 26 plug and mold was built. It was a 22 lengthened 4 feet out the back and free board increased about a foot. The deck plug was made from the newer style 41 deck. Was a big seller. Nothing about it was clean sheet design.
A few months later we went to the Miami boat show. There were some small 14 to 15 foot speed boats in an outside display. I noticed the strakes were rather large for a boat that size and the strakes were in a not so normal position on the bottom. I ask the guy about them and he admitted that they were 'one off' hulls that were made by pulling them out of the front half of a 28ft. boat mold. All sorts of ways to make boats without starting from scratch.1970 15' Allison/135 Chrysler stacker

As you said, Todd D is making a new 24 that started as a 20, add a four foot section, add more freeboard, change the tunnel design.
The new boat design should be in its first offshore race in April.
