Porta will build you a custom one for you personal application. 8" thru 21" setback and up to 600 H.P. and in any color. Its easy to copy something that has already been developed and proven for 30 years. The Chinese continue to do it everyday. I would hope that they send Scott a "design royalty" check for everyone they sell-

I was wondering how they could even make one so similar. Does Scott not have patent protection on such a unique product?

He has several patents but most have time lapsed. I am disappointed that someone in his backyard would copy and go to market with it.

There must be somebody new at Bob's... I noticed the nose cone kits are $350 now! Patents are tough... you have to have the time & resources to defend them and you don't always win.

Let's just go ahead and make America great again!

That is American capitalism for you. If you are properly protected you are bought, not copied. Gotta stay on your game or you will be beaten by people with more resources. At least it's an American company, if they provide quicker turnaround and better service for more standard customers, than there is certainly a market for another player.

I agree, its all about part turnaround and part availability for most of us when it comes time to our boats. If we have a mechanical issue in Sunday we pull out the stops (and wallet) to have our boat ready for the next weekend. I do think that some companies still have the CV19 curtain up and still want the customer to overpay but I think most of us are figuring out who to do business with and who to avoid.
As far as price, I took my wife and 5 year granddaughter too McDonalds for a few grease pucks and a sodium sandwich and just about had a stroke when the bill was just under $30.

I will stick with my porta stuff thanks. Can't get better than porta. Stealing is stealing. I won't buy from dubious sources.
