If it come to building a pad, which it probably will I'll probably template what's on my brother's venture. Similar size, weight and engine.

113 mph, Mod Pro set up 1/4 mile, spinning a 24, over 10,000 rpm with 1:87

If you notice, I'm not trimmed. Ben is not, either.

A race boat at top speed should have 0 to 2-degree negative trim with proper setup...

Your boat should have positive trim, to a small degree, not a lot.

It's about balance. Set up is the game.

Yes, props are part of it, but many other factors are included.

The second picture I just went over a boat wake, on the other side of that picture were 50 boats parked on the shore

River Ranch, a child could drive my boat 100 mph, has no unusual characteristics, boring

11.5 inch flat pad, with an Allison lip on the sides of the pad, not in the rear like an Allison.

From what i can see in your picture, it seems like a very shallow 'pad'. This design may not be giving you much separated lift. Also, your vee section is fairly low deadrise, so benefit of a good pad is somewhat limited.

Here's an article on 'Pad Design' that may be interesting for you.

I have never added a pad to a hull, but I would take the little piece out that the jack is touching. Leave the big flat board for the pad. But extend it to the edge of the wedge pieces you made. Make it a 90 up to the original hull. I would want a big flat tabletop area as a pad to balance on. I would go about halfway up the hull and then blend into the original hull shape.

If your set on doing this id use foam core and laminate it on the exterior skin of the existing hull. I would not cut the hull. Id use a DA sander with 30 grit and sand the gel carefully to exposed glass and shape the core to fit perfectly as possible. Then use corebond or carefully thickened vinylester resin to bond the core down. Cover with 1708 and again vinylester resin. Cap with csm and fare to shape. Prime and seal with duratec vinylester primer. Gel and cut polish or if being lazy use non ablative speed coating hull paint. You want it straight and sharp and symmetrical. Dead center no offset at all. The surface finish should be rough to break tension with the water.

Your going to want to flip that hull over imo. I cant imagine trying to do this off my back laying down. This is a considerable amount of work your looking at here.

Yea it took me about 5 minutes of sanding on my back last night to quit and start un rigging everything. I got plenty of shop and the tractor so shouldn't be too bad just have to set up the heaters when I start on the resin, not terribly cold here but don't want to risk it. It will be alot of work but for me that's why I have a boat, always something to do. I'll keep everyone updated as I make progress. Thanks everyone for the help.

im on board with the table top post, to compensate for your shallow V; I would go deeper than your mock-up shows, and stop it about 8'' short of the transom. that concept moves the planning surface forward, makes the bow easier to lift. today is nice for bottom work! on second thought you could 12'' on the recess transom notch, to lengthen the pad can add a 2x2 0r 2x3 alum angle, the width of the pad across the back. the notch also feeds more water to the prop when planing off. Process i gave you what i have. Pad shape, width, length, position? Your guess is as good as mine. I know id be keep it as simple a design as possible so if i wanted to change something about it, it would be easier. Width id base that on weight of the hull and compare to other hulls pad size/weight and make the decision that way
