    Merc 280 trigger wheel?

Why does a 280 trigger wheel have large teeth and some small teeth?

Not sure if that answers my question. On the trigger wheel tdc is where the teeth are missing.
Typically 24 minus 2 with all the teeth being the same size. On the 280 there are 4 or 5 shinny teeth.
    Why?

I think, so that the system can "sync" and start firing injectors & spark plugs in 1/3 revolution (or less) instead of waiting (up to) a full revolution to see one the "missing tooth" and start the engine?

Let's just go ahead and make America great again!
