    3.0 98 promax vst removal

    i just purchased a boat with twin 300 promaxs 98 vst laser style intake... my question is i dont like the vst setups.. always removed them on the 2.5s inboard fuel .. pump.. regulator. return to tank... blah blah blah.. reliable setup's.. can this be done on the 3.0's also? another question is the igntion computer feeds just the coils.. and the fuel ecm feeds the injectors i assume.. if something happens to these are there different choices for replacements.. say as brucato is to the 2.5 ecu?... if know vst is able to be removed whats the best upgrades for it.. i know @Chaz messes with these alot maybe he can chime inn. thanks

    I can't answer your questions but wanted to say that i am in the process of removing my vst on a small motor and may back up now due to the high volume's of the fuel pumps. I can't afford to loosing power because of fuel being heated bc of volume circulation. You have a beast, one of my all time favorites.

    ive done it on 2.5s many many times.. just did my other twin 225 promax 2.5s not long ago.. i would think these 300s being laser injection and now dfi it would be the same dont see why not ill probally test it out on one to see how it works if cant get know one to chime inn

    Yes, you can remove the VST in the typical fashion. I don't remember if the oil float wires need to be connected .. or .. left unplugged to make the beep go away. Easy way to find out ... BEEP-BEEP-BEEP ...
    The oil pump hole as well as the vaccuum check valve (starboard side cyl #5) will also need to be blocked off. I use a 1/4" NPT plug. Same for the pulse pump.

    awesome exactly what iam looking for iam a vst delete kinda guy lol .. i will be removing these before wide open summer time again thanks again
