An 86 Mariner has a standard fishing lower unit with a 2.0:1 ratio It looks similar to a Torquemaster, but it is different. A Torquemaster is a much later unit and it has a 1.75:1 ratio. However, a CLE will fit your motor. It will probably be a 1.87:1 ratio but could be a 2.0:1.

Thanks, current setup is on a Donzi 16 OB with a Bob's nose and 4 blace chopper - unknown pitch. My son is interested in buying it possibly- needs to replace current lower unit and possibly prop too. He is fishing out of NJ on a 76' and I live in NC - boat is in the US Virgin Islands where we are from originally. His GF lives in Charleston SC. Can I ask you to text him to explain? Please and thanks 340-513-1511 Kai Holmberg ( I am John- dad)

Hey, trying to understand this site and may have messaged the wrong person- whoops

My son called and wanted me to touch base with you and possibly swing by and see the lower unit mid- October when I am back. Can you ring me to discuss- don't seem to have your number. Thanks John 252-678-5775
