    Verado info needed

I'm looking to maybe upgrade my pontoon engine from a 2012 I4 200 Verado to a 300 or 400, my motor has DTS controls but uses SeaStar steering with a SeaStar power assist pump. I'm asking these questions because changing the rigging in this boat is difficult, it's under shielded with aluminum and the wiring is complex so I would prefer to change nothing.

    Hoping for plug and play?

I found a new 300 V8 (not a Verado) at a local dealer, he tells me I need to change my controls, but he "thinks" the main harness is the same and my steering will work. He says if I go with a Verado, new or used I will have to change my steering? I realize the hydraulics for the bigger Verado's is built into the clamp bracket but why won't the SeaStar hoses hook up to that and make it functional?

Running shift and throttle cables to a standard 300 V8 is doable but changing the ignition harness will absolutely suck and I don't want to do that.

Is the CMS motor the newer motors? I’ve been mostly looking at used I6 Verado’s. Hard to find them up here, most are along the coast and FL. I want a 20” and that also is hard to find. Guy up here is selling a pair of 400r’s, all I need to do is change the fittings on the clamp bracket and everything else will plug in?

My 200 has 207 hours, what is that worth?
