Interesting that the boat runs flat and seems to have a lot of wetted area. Maybe I am used to pad V bottoms.

I feel like at that speed, it you have a positive nose attitude, you better have wings. Cause you gonna be flying one way or another.

On big cats with stepped hulls negative trim is faster and safer. The hull has enough lift built into the hull so positive trim will actually slow you down pushing too much air. It may look wet but that is only very light spray.

Thanks. I watched the Tuff 34 video today, and it runs very aired out, which is ‘normal’ for me.

Unpopular opinion: These speeds are getting too fast.
Technology has jumped the shark in the past 20 years. Now twin outboards (500s on DW) are going to be above 145+mph. You can easily get a 38ft Fountain CC over 100mph today.
In the past to go fast require dedication. Now the stroke of a pen will make it happen instantly and at crazy speeds.
Watching an open cockpit boat do 175mph made me nervous just watching. I am glad the technology exists and I believe in letting people be free to make their own choices however this technology is going to lead to more deaths sadly.

Not sure I agree with this statement. A few years ago there were a lot of cats with 1350's going well over 150. I was one of those guys. I came to the realization that the maintenance and cost was not worth it. Two strokes on big cats can also be high maintenance as they run so hard. The new Mercs are changing that. They come with 3-year warranties and are very reliable. Yeah, the speeds are getting higher but still not even close to what a lot of cats were running. I do not see nearly as many big power I/O's at Poker Runs or even at LOTO. You are correct that there are CC boats running near 100 mph. Those are the same guys who had Fountain and Outerlimits with big power running over 100 mph. The reliability of the new outboards is winning over a lot of people.

This new technology is 100% a double sided knife. There is nothing cool about a loaded down center console running the speeds that they are capable of. A traditional boat has a cockpit which places passenger weight on or close to the CG if its designed correctly. A center console has people sitting and standing everywhere (not necessarily by design but I witness people standing outside of a designated seat and holding on to the T-top all of the time). We have had 3 center console accidents where eight people or more were ejected, I hope that guys use their heads as things continue to climb in performance capabilities.
As outboard cats continue to run faster the same applies...you need to have seat time in lightweight boats to understand what you are dealing with. A guy who is used to operating an inboard boat faces a whole new world when going to a lightweight outboard.
I would like to think that most people who are willing to spend 500k to 3M on a high powered center console have some common sense, but I have witnessed otherwise in a couple of cases.

We ALL know this is dangerous. Even in our "little boats" at 75 mph. If it were not dangerous, we prob would not do it. It is for the thrills! And common sense is not always common in people that "go for it". If we were worried about being safe, we would never expand our limits. So to say "that's enough speed", won't fly.
