Sport jet power

MY Alsberg classic is powered by a Mercury Sport jet. It's been in the shop for ten weeks now with the "mechanic" still not figuring out what is wrong. So just in case this goes south, I'm reaching out to see if anyone might have a complete replacement powerhead. It's a 2.5 175XR2. Need's to have the 13 spline crank to match up to the jet I believe. The 210 - 250 might also bolt up. EFI would be a welcome upgrade to this carbed engine.

Took the boat back from victory marine, in worse condition than when I dropped it off. Moved it to another shop about forty days ago. Now it's another waiting game until they "git round to it". Still looking for possible replacement engine or engine and pump.

Unless you want to do some major mods to the transom, I think the 175 is you best option.
