    Congratulations!
Just wondering, did Mr. gentry or Mr. Nordskog hold that record at some time or another?

September 12, 1988, and then Thirty-Five Years Later
Patriotic Duty resets Bob Nordskog’s Historic Record

Erik Nordskog had a bittersweet moment while presenting his granddad’s historic checkered flag to Tony Adams saying “I am very proud to be standing here with you during your celebration. Congratulations! You and your team had a flawless run. Of course, records are meant to be broken … and I’m already starting to plan.”

Next up for Patriotic Duty? The team is registered for Ocean Cup’s upcoming Pacific Rum Run – Huntington Beach around Catalina, Friday, September 29th where the Patriotic Duty team plans to better their current UIM World Record 1:24:00* on the 112.5-mile course.

Live stream coverage of the Pacific Rum Run begins at 7 am Friday, September 29th. If you didn’t make it to Long Beach, head over to Pacific Airshow® and stop by the Boats on Main Street party across the Pacific Coast Highway, next to the world-famous Huntington Beach Pier, Saturday and Sunday where you can meet the team, shake their hands, and congratulate them on this outstanding achievement – the UIM World Record San Francisco to Long Beach – NorCal to SoCal.

Encinitas, CA September 16, 2023 – Thirty-five years ago Bob Nordskog with the Teague brothers, Bob and Norm, laid down a California Coast record from San Francisco to Marina Del Rey at 5 hours 27 minutes and 22 seconds.

Yesterday, thirty-five years and three days later, the Patriotic Duty team of Tony Adams, Steve Seaton, and Allen Bellinghausen shattered that famous record chopping off over an hour (1:01:39 to be precise) and resetting the record bar at an impressive 4 hours 55 minutes 33 seconds.

And then, without missing a beat, the team continued to Long Beach earning a second accolade, the San Francisco to Long Beach APBA/UIM World Record, at 5 hours 18 minutes 39 seconds* averaging a brisk 78.14mph in their 47’ Outerlimits with Mercury Racing 1100/1350 QC4v engines.

Perhaps we could interest him in a Miami New York run? I don’t know if he’d be able to break gentry’s record, but it would be interesting. Much easier to keep pace with and he wouldn’t have to worry about broken lower units. Maybe leg cramps. No, I’m not trying to detract from the HOWE‘s record attempt. I think it’s a great thing and I wish them all the best. I just like to add a little humor to everything best always a Amberjack.
    THE HAMSTER WHEEL.

The US Coast Guard intercepted Reza Baluchi about 70 miles (110km) off Tybee Island, Georgia on 26 August.

Officials said the 44-year-old marathon runner refused to leave the vessel for three days.

Mr Baluchi has tried three similar voyages before, all of which ended in Coast Guard intervention.

Didn’t know the guy was a marathon runner. Nor did I know it was his third attempt. I guess I got to keep up with junk sports channel a little bit more hell it would take me a week to figure out how to get out of that thing just saying, I’m still trying to figure out where the periscope is. Fast always a Amberjack.

We aren’t all bad out here in the land of fruits and nuts. in fact get away from the liberal sanctuary cities and you’ll find Big Time Patriots, hence the name of the Team, who are pissed off as hell and could classify us by the name of a past badass offshore race team “Armed & Dangerous”

Getting back to the body of this post “Where are the Howes?”

I mentioned in an earlier post the respect for Tom Gentry and the Miami to NY record. Read this article and you will appreciate what I’m talking about and how important it is for it to not be overshadowed.

OK turbo charged much respect. I remember the armed and dangerous offshore crew from years past no disrespect to the left coast. California dreaming used to be one of my favorite pastimes. Back when we were in the wine and whiskey business we used to spend a lot of time out in California up in Napa, I still remember the trips out there with my brother when we were drinking fruit and eating nuts. Took my honeymoon with my ex-wife in San Francisco before they turned it into a sewer city. It’s a shame. What do you let your liberal politicians in immigrant huggers do to that city , my only complaint is you got a much shorter border with Mexico and it’s easier to defend. Still love California. It’s on my bucket list to get back out there again before I pass. Hopefully the feds will cooperate and let me off this ankle bracelet before I go to the great boat race in the sky still want to get back to Parker for the Enduro that’s on my bucket list also. So tell all the Tinseltown pretenders and the Pelosi liberal immigrant huggers to take a short walk off the Golden Gate Bridge and swim east. If the rest of California can take back the state, you guys have a chance. It’s either that or move to Nevada.

"I feel confident in saying with the 500R, most people will see a noticeable increase in performance from the 500 compared to the 450.

The biggest difference is in the acceleration, and that's the low inertia flywheel and the bigger throttle body. You can do a lot of work on it and it'll do a lot for you. Also, apples to apples (450R to 500R), you're still going to get a much more durable lower unit because you're going from a 1.25" to a 1.5" driveshaft, which is a big deal for these boats because its hard to keep the lower units in the water with these boats at these speeds. So when you bark them, and when you gotta lower the prop quickly, you need that extra driveshaft. "
    Mike Howe
