    Rebuilding seats

Looking to rebuild the rear and back to back seat wood. Is there something better and lighter than marine grade or std plywood.
    Thanks for any input.

I used 1/2" NidaCore with two layers of fiberglass mat to replace my floor & seats and they are incredibly light and plenty strong but my fiberglassing skills weren't great. If I did it again I would probably buy the pre-laminated structural panels: https://www.merrittsupply.com/produc...d-panels-h8pp/

    Core only: https://www.merrittsupply.com/produc...mb-plain-h8pp/

Some of the upholstery shops are using PET foam board and a light weight starboard instead of wood.

I used coosa for my seat frames. Pricy but light and strong.

I just used PVC board from Home Depot For my back seat. About the same price as Marine plywood and maybe slightly lighter. But doesn't rot, mold warp or crack. Works just like wood. You can get 4x8 sheets in either 1/2" or 3/4
