    i believe it is a kill switch for if the motor is upside-down. since the black-yellow kill button wire goes to it.

    its for over tilting the motor. either in tilt or out of water.

    MOST of the time they don't work at all.
    The ones that do work typically don't kill the motor till its inverted or tilted past the mechanical limits of the motor tilting up.
    They almost never are oriented to where it actually kills the motor as soon as its tilted to where the water pickups just came out of the water.
