    Cowling Fabric Covers

Any chance of causing heat damage, especially to the electronics, by covering the cowl with a factory cover during the hot summer days? My pontoon boat that has a 90 HP 4S motor and when not in use is tied up during the summer and I don't want the cowl to fade or get covered with spider webs. Not an issue with the STV as I take that in/out after each use.

A white cover would be better than the Merc black cowling I would think.

Whatever cover you get, make sure it's vented so moisture will not build up.

Wow , that's a good point. put vents in the hull cover never thought to vent the motor cover. I do park under a canopy, but the humidity is high in FL plus these old Johnson need to vent gas fumes from the carbs

In addition to vents, the fabric needs to breathe............

Years ago when I was in costa rica all the guides had white t-shirts on their engines. If running, I would take it off whatever you use.
