Mercury Marine 7 pedal intake manifold
I'm curious about this blue 7 pedal intake manifold for the 2.4.
It seems a bit different than the other intakes especially since it has raised script saying Mercury Marine and none of the other ones do.
The holes in the base plate are all in round bosses exactly where they want them to be instead of generic oval bosses.
The carb base doesn't have a machined slot between the two sides like the others.
The ports are shaped differently than the other two intakes.
The 5 digit part number doesn't come up no matter where I look.
All four corners are cropped off instead of one, two or three.
I don't know if the blue means anything but its baked on just like a painted block.
Has those tiny vacuum holes in the intake but only on one side.
I'm sure there are other things that I didn't mention.
Does anyone know anything about this intake? If I don't ask any questions, I'll never learn anything.

Don’t think the intake will work with a 5 petal block half.

Just looked at a 1982, 7 petal. Has the bosses like the blue one, but no script.
After further review mines different, bosses and all. Does have the 45° cuts top and bottom. Must of made a bunch of different ones over the years?Last edited by OnPad; 06-03-2023 at 09:48 PM.

'80/'81 225 plate.. tha great big vacuum ports on tha risers give it away.. plus not cross drilled...
one plate is above.. tha blue one.
one is a 5 petal bp or oval port..
one is probably a 2.5 245.. say this cause tha hi perf. (naked) 7 petal 2.4 carb intake is like hen's teeth..................Last edited by tlwjkw; 06-04-2023 at 01:49 AM.

Nitro Rat seems to think it's possible, with some modifications. He doesn't say anything about 5 vs 7?
Looks to me like all the bosses are in the front half, and a guy could drill and tap a 5 for a 7 petal, after cutting out the extra stuffing for the 5 petal?
