You would feel different after the air pump, efi pump, and coils all started going out. More fuel efficient, but so is pulling back on the loud handle…

I worked over a 1996 150hp 2.0, a couple months ago.
Shortened the tuner, solid mounts, opened up adapter plates, and exhaust chest. Raised the exhaust port to 1.550, the transfers are already high at 2.120, I cleaned them up. I raised the boost port about .040. Deflashed the rod slots + a little more.
My engine has small transfers, compared to a 175 or 200hp.
I was hoping for 175+hp and a higher rpm range. We'll see if I ever run it. Kinda hard when you have a bunch of 2.5 litres, and a 3l also.Last edited by OnPad; 06-07-2023 at 11:57 AM.

Those covers are from 2 different motors. The cover on the left is from a V6. The cover on the right is from a 3 cylinder. You can tell by the latch system. The 3 and 4 cylinders use a hinged front latch with a single spring catch. The V6 uses a double latch system with a separate front cover. You can see the 2 latches on the V6 cover would not even be covered by the hinged cover on the 3 cylinder. Plus, the lines in the decals are thicker and the lettering is bolder on the V6.

If you want to run a 2L, 1.540 with 26cc heads on a light hull does pretty good.
