    Engine Teardown and ...

The most reliable engine will probably always be in the "eye of the beholder", or owner.

Ford’s Inline 6 has a 70-pound crankshaft (albeit the newer engines don’t turn weight like that anymore).

What I like about watching these videos is, I see the end results, without getting my hands dirty (and scratched) and not straining my back bending in awkward positions

Bearing wear reveal engines like periodic and timely oil changes. Engines operate better with fresh oil than a bath of sludge.

I agree, with the mechanic, why was the oil drain plug not put at the lowest point (because maybe the engineer of this model said, “let there be oil sludge” and guess what he left an oil pan area with an undrained-pool-collection-area).

Modern engines have so much more attached accessories, compared to the previous video of the older Ford inline 6 engine. Add extra labor time just for removing and reinstalling newer engines’ part accessories

The Ol' inline 300 was a good 1/2 ton truck engine for the average person.

Today's engines are built with better metal's, lower friction parts, closer tolerances and from what I hear are balanced at the factory.

The Chrysler 300 I just bought has a specific recommendation for engine oil. Not every oil meets the requirement.
Use to be you only needed to worry about the oil weight and API code. Now you have to actually make sure your oil meets the exact certification the manufacturer requires; like Chrysler MS-6395.

    https://kmn-lubricants.com/wp-conten...e-05-03-13.pdf
"Any oil marketer wishing to claim MS-6395 performance must send a letter to Chrysler with the form in
Appendix A completely filled out (address included in Appendix A). Oil marketers must meet all the
requirements contained in MS-6395 and may not claim conformance to selected portions only.

Oils must meet all requirements of the API Engine Oil Licensing and Certification System (EOLCS) for
ILSAC GF-5 certification, as specified in API Publication 1509, latest edition. The product must have a
    current API license.

All engine tests must be conducted according to the procedures specified in the ACC Product Approval
Code of Practice (Level I and Level II support is not sufficient for formulation changes described in Bulletin
C-24, test on final), as specified for licensing a product to use the ILSAC Certification Mark in API 1509."

One special 300 straight six. Back when racers made engines that didn't exist; at their shop.
This engine, back in the 1970's, was making 600hp naturally aspirated. For those that don't know the 300 I6 is 4.0 bore x 4.0 stroke. 2hp per cubic inch naturally aspirated!

    Impressive!

I remember when Bob Glidden was the leader of the Pro Stock drag racing.

I was a huge Glidden fan when he raced. I have a stack of pics I took of him and his team/car at the Cajun Nationals. These pics are not taken by me.
