I have a homemade 26.5' x 8' CC that's fairly light with only 225 HP. Does a solid 55 mph. Thought is was real efficient. This 25 Tuff is incredible! That is some great design and R&D from Tuff.

Warranty DEFINITELY IS affected. One look at the PCM download and they know it's been flashed.

I’m sure, I haven’t heard of a single warranty issue being denied because of it however. 🫣🤫 Do you have any knowledge of Yamaha denial of warranty due to a flash? Genuinely curious as to other shops experiencing that outcome.

Supposedly if you do not exceed the factory rpm limiter, the warranty is left intact. My bud has a 200 sho bumped to the 330 mark. Hydrotec said this to him when he asked. I bet that yammi can change their minds when they desire.

    - It will without a doubt will void your warranty regardless of RPM
    - I don't know of any claims being denied, but I'm certain they exist. Have some claims gone undetected, probably.

I never sell tunes to people under warranty without explaining the potential risks associated with losing warranty coverage. It's just bad business to not make a customer aware of that.

The other thing is, if you want to stay under the factory RPM limit to try and cheat the system, your only cheating yourself.

Typically what I see, with a flash and no prop change, is a 2-400RPM jump. Usually we end up propping down to take advantage of the additional RPM limit. The tunes really shine when propped 6600-6800RPM.

Just like with all the tuned cars it will come down to the dealer and the severity of the warranty repairs. Normal stuff will go unchecked and get taken care of, coils, injectors, alternators etc. Now kick the rods out and they will be pulling the tune and denying it!!!

Exactly, you need to increase RPM to capture the HP gain. The good news is there are lots of used Yamaha's out there. When I see the 4.2 Yamahas in person it is shocking how big they are.

On that note, stay away from the early ones. Try to get a 2014+

Any details on changes or reliability issues from the early years?

Incredible boat and speed! I’m guessing anyone buying this rig is not overly worried about the factory engine warranty
