    ISO Mercury CLE driveshaft #45-848449A5

    Hello,

I recently bought a 96 ProMax with a CLE lower. Once I got the lower off, I was a little upset that the shaft was severely pitted around the top to the water pump housing.

I'm looking for Mercury part #45-848449A5 if anyone has an extra willing to sell. Please PM me if you have one in good to great shape. I'm not sure if these can be sleeved. Anyone know about this?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes they can be speedi sleeved. Just make sure you measure locations well, those sleeves aren't very wide. A stock fishing driveshaft will go in its place, and work just fine.

Never done one of these before, how do you install them on the drive shafts?
