XR 2002 boats are they still around?

When I look at all the for sale adds and basic talk about boats no one seems to have one. Have these boats been forgotten or are they just put up as classics, are they still desirable?

They are still around. Just nobody wants to sell them.

I looked at a few over the years but they had been run hard, so I passed. Ended up with a V21.After that ,Allison Made a few in 2016?.Those were nice boats.

Nobody. Glenn Reynolds set the v bottom outboard record in one in 87 but at 129.??. The story is he was in the low 130’s exiting the traps. Fastest I’ve ever heard of one going

In the wave to wave article under the blue and white xr 02, I thought 130's was it too. It would be nice to know more about that motor.
Q: How efficient was the best Allison test boat to date?
I tested a Super Sport with a 45 HP Honda outboard that did 52 MPH. We had an engine that was turbo charged, and it ran 140 MPH on a XR 2002.

I still call BS on 140. That blue/white XR2002 is my old boat. That picture was taken when the owner before me had it. I converted it to cable/pulley steering and ran it with an 05 Drag engine with a 12” mid

140 km/hr lol. We’ve all watched that 80’s video of the “129” and I hate to be that guy, but I’m not buying it. I’ve seen Tyner run into the 120’s and he was rolling….and that was with a built drag. 2.4? Nope.

I have ben 115 at 8000 rpm with a 29 Hoss HPD with more on the table, 2001 SVS Drag powered. I am thinking it would go 120 easy maybe 125. The planets would have to align to try that. I have made that right turn at 70 and couldn't imagine the engine quitting at 100 plus, I don't think there would be much left.
My boat is the red Marv Jorgenson boat. The Chopper City Racing letters are still barely visible on the wing in front of the motor.
Nitro methane being the meaning of life, flying a v is a close second.
