    1987 Checkmate 21' Starflite w/o motor

    I have owned this all original 1987 fresh water Checkmate 21' for over 25 years. Recently repowered with Yamaha controls and gauges. (keeping engine)
    Sea Star Hydraulic steering, 8'' set-back power transom, full Sunbrella cover, Eagle tandem trailer w/fresh paint and tires.

    BEAUTIFUL boat!

    How did it run w/the SHO?
    I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.


    I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

    It is VERY FAST !! 75 anytime !! all day. I have seen 80 on the speedo in the fall air with the right chop. Solid mounts, jack plate and Hydraulic steering make it fairly easy to drive.
    It literally jumps out of the water with all that torque, had a Merc 2.5L 200hp that ran in the upper 60's

    The Starflite is an awesome hull. This one is spotless !! ALL original gelcoat and interior. Fresh paint, tires and bearings on the Eagle trailer. Motor is sold.
