If you have a 1989 2.4 200, then check the chrome bores. If in good shape, slap rings in it. What compression does it have on all holes? Remove all spark plugs, open the throttle open, and then spin over. Target is 120 psi. Rebuild the carbs, yank the oil injection, Shave the heads a bit, new Chris Carson reeds, yank the black boxes, and have fun. It’s a cheap rebuild if bores are ok.

bore scope all cylinders looked perfect, I did not do a leak down yet. We plan to slap the BP on next winter but now we’re really re thinking it, replaced the water pump on the old V200, and now looking into why at WOT throttle it creeps upto being in the hot side, so Iam searching the site and everywhere to see the cause of that.

OK your motors in good shape with those compression numbers. Get a can of spray sea foam and do a decarb on it which is basically the way to remove the carbon out of the pistons and rings and such and it will probably come up a little bit on comp . If the water pump is new and in good shape, then you probably have gravel or debris in the divider plate between the motor and mid. Check your thermostats and poppet . It will be something pretty simple. If you have not already, remove all black boxes from that motor and also delete the oil injection and go to 50:1;premix.

If it has been sitting for a while, it is also time to replace fuel line from the tank to the motor including the bulb and also time to rebuild your carburetors and put new needles and seats in them for the floats.
