2023 Spring Jasper River Ride May 5,6,7
This has been talked about in another thread but since it got some traction there I wanted to start a new thread to make sure any potential interested parties find it.
We are going to have a Spring River ride on Nickajack lake. Not associated with any races, just a ride. Running from Jasper to Chattanooga May 6 and May 7.. I believe it is about 30 - 35 miles one way. There is boat parking in Chattanooga where we can tie up and walk to restaurants to eat and or get some drinks. There is also a sand bar at around the halfway point to stop and bull****, do flybys, whatever. If there are any mechanical issues there is a boat ramp around the halfway point you can tow your injured ride to and have someone meet you with your truck. Ask me how I know. Its called TVA Racoon Mountain Pump Station on Google Maps.
Will ride on North Guntersville on the afternoon of May 5th as well for those that like to show up early.
It will be a full moon that weekend so should be easy to see for campers to walk around at night weather permitting.
If your interested or you know for sure your coming please reply to this thread. Thanks!

Places where you can stay include Hales Bar which has RV parking, floating cabins that you can pull your boat up to and multi bedroom cabins on land. There is also Marion County Park and Shellmound Campground which both feature boat ramps and standard campground features. Nearby is a Loves Travel Stop where you can get gas, McDonalds, Subway, ice, snacks, beer, whatever.

^^^I’m with them, and looking forward to it!
I plan on bringing my 23 Eliminator Daytona dubbed the “StressEliminator”. Don’t know what else we’re dragging there but looking forward to meeting people, bench racing and hopefully sitting around a fire at some point.
Thanks for starting a separate thread.A problem is only a problem when viewed as a problem...

It is 32 miles from the docks at down town Chattanooga to Hales bar Marina. I have done the 32 mile 'Chattajack' kayak race seven years in a row and that is a beautiful stretch of the river. I have to admit it would be more fun to ride it at 90 mph.

Approximately how many miles will we run each day? StressEliminator holds 64 gallons but we don't need to lug around a bunch of extra gas.
Thanks

With current river conditions I would say 4 or 5 miles between prop changes. How many propellers do you plan to bring?

I talked to a couple of the guys that run up there all of the time and they aren't even putting in yet. Its bad from what I am told but it usually is from all of the trees and debris with spring rains in that area. I will see them this weekend in Palatka. They are coming down for our local run.

75 miles should be a reasonable estimate for round trip. True for the Jasper run or the running Guntersville from Nickajack Dam area to Goose Pond Marina. Don't know how many passes you like to make at the sand bar ect... There is also gas available on the water but it doesnt sound like you will need it.
