Looking for info on my boat, 1968 performance marine??

Hello all, I’m trying to find any information possible on a boat I bought yesterday, it was listed as a 1968 Performance marine 21, the title says it’s 19’9”, I measured it around 20ft. I can’t find any info on it online but it looks almost exactly like a 21’ challenger from the 70s. The title says it was an an inboard motor, but it looks to be a factory outboard version, anyway it’s gonna be a fun little boat. Anyone ever heard of performance marine in the late sixties early seventies?? Pics attached, thanks in advance!

No hull number on the back, unless it’s been covered up over the years, but I think the HIN numbers started in 1972? This is supposedly a 68

Challengers were not made until 1976 I believe. And they were the original

If the transom is flexing enough for that plate to get bent at the bottom like that... you have a major (potentially deadly) problem.

Let's just go ahead and make America great again!

Mragu. I’ve thought about that as well, that maybe this isn’t the title for this boat, maybe somewhere down the line the original title was misplaced and since the boat has no hull number they just got another title from another boat and called it a day . But I got this title transferred to my name and the boat registered to me , so I’m gonna use it.

David-WI , good point I think it’ll be fine, but if I have to put a new transom in it’s no biggie, won’t be my first rodeo with transom and stringers , back in 2013 I had a 1991 powerplay 33 sport deck that termite’s got into , that was a disaster and a huge job replacing stern and stringers, this little 20ft boat is not so bad.
