What is available at the next level or two down that average guy can buy on today’s pay check?

Willing to buy used, but less than 5 yrs old. Will $60,000 get it done? Should be able to seat 6 or more and do 80mph with 2-3people in it.

So did you pickup your boat in Canada?

I see the US dollar is equal to $1.34 Canadian right now

What would the coat be for a 24 or 25 ft Tuff, and weight?

I did really good on the US to CA dollar on both of my boats, I had them shipped because of Covid restrictions to the US side of the border. I do not know how much a 25 is now.....the lead time on one is about 5-6 years I believe.

That's crazy, I'll just get one of Todds 24 cats, I'm a V bottom guy, It's just the Tuffs fly clean, at my age I may never see one, Todds telling me to streach my 20'6 " 3 to 4 feet like he just did with his 20, but with all the chit I'm going through with the wife and my back, I just want to retire for a while not start a new job, the actual hull width on my 20 ft is only 6 Ft, the rear wings add almost two foot in width.

I picked it up in Wisconsin, Paid $28,000 USD in 2013 for it, 2008 Checkmate 2100br. Had to pay GST at the border, exchange rate at the time was much better for Canadians in 2013.

I borrow from myself ... when I buy toys. I really hate digging those old coffee can's up outta the ground ...

Why are there no affordable "new" small boats ... greed.

The good news is there are tons of older boats and motors out there lookin for a new home ... cheap ..

I know it's a four letter word = "work" (what you do for a living doesn't really matter)

But all it takes is a bit of time, effort and knowledge to make them look and run as good, if not better than new ...

jonboy , I've had something to do over the last couple of years that was more important to me than leave her at home and go out and play.
I'm really suprized that you can see in my fenced in yard .. from the ghetto's of kookafornia ...

Chazarino...You gotta get with the new tech. Man...Coffee cans? You gotta get some of that new fangled modern PVC pipe. Much safer (not metal) and some silica packets are good insurance against moisture....

In 1982 I bought a new 235hp OMC for around $2300. so the cost of new outboards is way over 10 times what they were..

My 1978 E150 was $5,000. new , I feel sorry for young folks just starting out, hope you get a good inheritance.

30% of those cans have disappeared since Bimbo got into office. I would suggest digging them up and doing anything tangible other then sitting on cash as it continues to drop-another year or two you will only have half the value you buried. Select vintage bikes, sleds, and guns have all maintained a 15% to 20% gain in recent years. The guns take up less room, are cool to look at and can be sold to other collectors in 5 minutes time.

Even having a new boat that you can go out and enjoy has proven to be an okay deal in the last three years, I was offered 20K more then I paid for my 36 just last night. We rode over to Playcraft to price a new 31 tri-toon like my current one but wanted a quote with the new motors ($425K for a pontoon) a new Bennington is the same--this again proves that cash is worth nothing when takes that much of it to trade for a toon. A new 39 MTI canopy pleasure boat is being quoted at 1.15 M with new outboards which is a 30% increase from two years ago-(dig up the cans and do something smart with what you have left).

Remember when you’re cutting through the PVC just to go around the edge, lightly with a saw and crack pipe. Don’t dig them up when you’re drunk and sauce straight through the whole thing. It’s hell gluing one dollar bills back together.

Should’ve said Saw through the pipe. By the way, when you’re doing cans, it’s best to wrap everything in tinfoil and wax it.

5% CD's are available all day long. Not as fun as bikes, boats and guns. But better than buried cash.
