The fastest speed I saw was 103 I would expect an STV with a 280 and a 30 pitch to run well over 103.

We were talking about him yesterday. I lost my dad this week and Teddy was one of the guys that went way to early. Lots of memories with him towards the end when he would have our snacks delivered to the shed-I think of him everytime I see a nice 70' Camaro.

I'd say he never pinned it for any amount of time. 280 STV will run into the teens easily.

    Joe, sorry about your dad.

Mark in the STV is very calculated! He said pick a speed you are comfortable with and take 10 off that. In regards to staying safe in the long haul.

I agree. I've run mine 110 with a 30 ET. Still had about 8 or 900 rpm to go. I like to cruise at 85 or so. Kick it to 100 here and there. I don’t have interest in running 120 in such a small light weight boat.

On the original post topic, about 4 years ago, I bought a ProComp for 11,500 with a stock 225 promax and 2 props. Probably can't find that deal anymore. But the local cheap Mexican restaurants are now $15 to $19 for a dinner. Used to be $10. Taco trucks are now $3 plus per taco. Nothing is cheap.
