    project Knot Sure

I have been working on this little 14' Glastron clone (hence her name "knot sure" for probably about 15 months now. As boating season is right around the corner, Im getting anxious for better weather here in Michigan as I only have a few odds and ends to finish her up and she will be ready to splash. I do have a more detailed set of posts on Fiberglassics under restoration project make/model/year unknown. I thought I had started one here but after a few months in, I figured I wasnt going to post on 2 places. Now that Im getting done and really want to make her fly, I think I should have put it here in the first place, LOL. She was a mess, had to strip it down to the fiberglass and replace everything. It has been a long journey and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hope to have some photos soon of her flying on the water.

I have a 1980 Merc 800 ready to hang to get her wet and do a little shakedown. Been on the look out for a very inexpensive 115 to hang off of her. But at this time I just want to finish the interior and get her in the water. So I am going to use what I have ATM.

Now, It seems I do have this thread "Project Knot Sure" already started. I came across it late last night. Is there a way a moderator can combine this thread/ these comments to the preexisting one https://www.screamandfly.com/showthr...Knot-Sure-quot I dont want to cause any issues, confusion, and would like this to be a continuation of the notes thread. My apologies.

If you're interested... Not too far out of range from IL area I know of a solid 120+psi L6 '65 90HP, silver band I believe.
It might be for sale but a rippin adi 115 would do it to.

I spoke too soon, Switzer bought it. Good home.

I can't think of any reason to stop at this point. Cut out the holes in the dash last night and mounted the tach and speedo. Then moved around to the transom and marked out the holes for the motor mounts in the stainless transom plate I fabed up this last week. still debating on trying out this 12" setback jack plate on the first launch or if I should just mount the motor directly to the transom to do the shakedown run. Im thinking this 12" jackplate is a bit too much for this little 14 foot boat. Maybe I can throw the fuel tank and battery up under the bow to compensate some of the weight transfer. Then again, to me it looks almost cartoonish with this giant jack plate lol.

I plan on going down to the barn and grabbing a sheet of old 3/8 plywood to cut out some side panels today. Need to order the vinyl and mounting hardware. If I am not missing anything, all that is left on the interior is the side panels, The panel that will go across the back behind the back seat, and to cut out the carpet to fit. I was going to glue the carpet down that I have but a member from FiberGlassics just getting runners to throw in place to be able to pull out and clean. I am running with that idea but using the carpet I have, cutting it to fit in 2 sections for the front and rear. Then using snaps to hold it in place. Should make this much easier to clean after a day with the grand kids.

Also debating where exactly I want to place the name, I will most likely wait till I splash her to see where the water line sets across the transom.
