Irony: An exchange for bankrupt crypto exchanges – to trade your claims to lost coins

Irony: An exchange for bankrupt crypto exchanges – to trade your claims to lost coins - The Globe and Mail

My wife called this meta investing. Many crypto exchanges went broke and investors have outstanding claims. Rather then wait to hopefully collect pennies on the dollar, they can now sell their claims to an exchange. Someone else can buy the claim and hope to collect something some day.

The really crazy part is that the exchange is run by a man who previously ran one of the broke crypto exchanges. What was that line about fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...

Interesting that both of the banks that failed over the weekend had recently embraced "crypto" deposits... some of the first (maybe last) to do so.

Let's just go ahead and make America great again!

This dude must be really, really wealthy to invest in the crypto-exchange futures market.
And the future probability of success or bust are an unknown. However, that is the entrepreneurial drive.

That, or he's figured out that there will.actually be a substantial amount of something "left" when the dust settles if he buys $1B worth of junk crypto for 2¢ on rhe.dollar ($20M) but the.actual value is 12¢ ($120M)?

Have you guys heard of the gigantic power required to mine the cyrpto? From the stories I have seen they can cause brown outs from the hi current draw in the areas they are located.

Somebody bought a coal-fired power plant (in MT) that was being decommissioned... they told the regulators they were going to sell power but they actually directed all the power to their crypto mining operation!

I've heard of many cases where miners have come up with something similar, like underground farms. Also, unfortunately, there are a lot of fraudsters now, including in the field of cryptocurrencies. Fraudsters take advantage of the fact that people generally do not understand what cryptocurrency is and how blockchain technology works, and often fall for various scam offers because of greed. Therefore, choosing a crypto exchange is critical for the safety of your assets (https://cryptwerk.com/post/how-to-ch...hange-for-you/). But I believe that the future belongs to cryptocurrencies.

cyrptos are not currencies, just widgets you hope more people buy to increase your non interest earning asset you own in an unregulated market.

If a government gets to implement cbdc they will cease to exist instantly ( well just after wall street cashes out)

I'm not sure what language this is but I've been told that the new spelling for p.o.n.z.i. is c.r.y.p.t.o.

Like most schemes the first ones in and the first ones out are the winners. The remainder of the ones "holding" are the suckers. Really similar to the pyramid schemes of the 90's. Just with fancy plated tokens to hold in place of your money.
