    Bobs Jackplate wiring

The instructions state to wire the jackplate directly to the battery.
My concern is on a dual battery setup if it was wired to battery 1 and I'm on 2 would the battery 1 be enough to operate the jackplate since the battery 1 wouldn't be getting fed or charged from the motor at that point?
Has anyone wired their setup this way or should I wire it to the battery switch?

I would wire it to the switch, if you switch batteries.

Let's just go ahead and make America great again!
