Action Marine Flip from January 2023
The silver metal flake, center steer Action Marine with the Merc 250XS that flipped January 7th on Lake Osbourn in Lake Worth Florida was towed into the dealership I work for today in an attempt to read the computer for the FWC. Sadly, the driver Roger DeCapito, lost his life in the accident. I’ve heard that it was his first day with his “new” motor. Just a reminder to boat safely, know your limits and wear a lifeline vest at speed.

It was, motor was just rigged, wind was blowing like crazy and several friends told him not to go, he wasn't wearing a life jacket so I've been told.

So sad. I saw a friend lose his life in a boat accident because he would not listen to multiple cautions. Being safe isn't being a sissy, it's being smart. At most of our ages, we cannot endure physical trauma like we used to. I have to remind myself of that regularly. Condolences to his friends and family.

I will just say that it is absolutely stupid and irresponsible for us not to wear a good quality lifejacket and attach the Killswitch tether for the majority of speeds that most of our rigs will run. A few people are under 60 miles an hour and a lot of people over 90. It’s just not right to not wear one. If we’re gonna have these fun toys, we have to be responsible. Same goes for booze and then cranking it up on the top end. Not to mention doing that with ignorant passengers who have no clue of the potential dangers. Not trying to sound like a puss, just sick of people getting hurt and killed in what is supposed to be a fun sport/hobby.
