I would like to lighten them up. I am doing all the manual work to this that I can, have very limited funds I'm no stranger to grinding in precision.
I don't care how small the mod is!
    Thanks.
I wouldn’t bother with lightening pistons. You’ll see no performance gain and it will only weaken the part. You can balance them but I wouldn’t take any real weight out, especially out of the skirt

If you equal weight them, drill the wrist pin end in both sides to get the reduction, leave the piston. Won't take as much material either compared to the aluminum.

I don't know about it being copy of a old Procraft hull but this boat gets up on the water fast and is just skipping through the water . It's in the water 3.25in with a manual jack plate set back 6in with a 21 laser 2. I know I've heard it's a terrible prop.
Had video of it running up on the little bit of pad that was in the water.
    Can't afford a different boat.

As far as speed goes we currently run at 51 with the boat loaded, both boys and all thier fishing gear full 26gal of fuel and me.
Would like to get 56 out of it. That would help us alot when running 25 miles in one direction. Time of bait in the water is very important. Speed equals more time in the water. We are but a small high school team doing the best with what we have.
Trying to compete with $50000 bass boats.

My boys finished 5th in our state of Michigan and I am very proud of them. I'm trying do my part by getting them time in the water. That's out of somewhere around 2000 teams.
    That's my end goal here!!!!

    Thanks for the info.
Looks like a minor crack in the surface to me. If you weren't getting water in you can probably peen it and never worry about it again. For the chest, like most v6 mercs, blending that exhaust exit downward towards the bottom does help the flow a lot. 2.0L dumps at the bottom are big enough already so directing the flow towards that exit is what it wants to do. From my experience with 2.5Ls, combining that with blending the rod slots into the transfers at the bottom of the cylinder is a game changer and no port timing mods are necessary. These two things combined will also cause it to move a crap ton of fuel through so tuning it is a must. Cant do these things and still run the same jetting in carbs and/or ecu curve without issues IMO. Just my thoughts on it.
