    It's been a while since I did some work. This is a picture of offset cutting the main bearings on a L6 motor to raise the compression in the old days. You don't think I can cut a fly wheel

    Here's what I found. As tunnelmike said, 1.2 pounds is the weight difference. 12.4 for the cast flywheel and 11.2 for the flex plate version

    How do you identify a red 40amp flywheel? Do you have to look at the magnets or can you tell by looking at the motor? I need to describe this to someone who doesnt have the first clue what they are looking at

    All the 40s I have ..... have cooling vents.........and are aluminum......with a steel band.............
