Is it just me, or has GoPro fallen from greatness?
Had a Hero 2 and it was bombproof and easy to use. From what I am now reading, that pretty much ended somewhere between the Hero 4 and Hero 7. I just gave up on a Hero 11 after a couple weeks. When I opened the box, there was a note in there that said I had to link it to my phone (can we do ANYTHING without our phone being involved anymore???) and update it before it could even be used at all. Things only went downhill from there. After hours in live chat and on the phone with their (lousy) tech support, I finally gave up on it and am sending it back. Can't get an external mic to work, the guy at the tech support center thinks the media mod had a bad mic jack. Camera turns itself on randomly at all hours of the day and night. Gets hot real quick, battery drains pretty rapidly even at 4K-30. Screen froze so bad that I had a hard time even getting the camera turned off. After some further research, it seems that GoPro has been laying goose eggs for the past several years while riding on their previous reputation. They are apparently plagued with all sorts of these types of problems. You have to be a professional to use one anymore, and even the pros wind up losing footage due to the crashes and failures, yet they keep defending them. Why???

I know someone well who is a pioneer of the valley and was an integral component in GoPro's early success. He retired about 5 years ago. One word has killed that corp, Wokeness

Well that freakin' sucks!!! Still have my Hero 2, with the viewer and the wifi remote and just about all of the other accessories. It is in my safe in a controlled environment.

GoPro in 2014 made 128 million, but the CEO salary was 285 million dollars. R&D took a back seat to paying their over compensated executives. Including a company employee expansion.
Therefore, the product declines and the competition streaks ahead.
